4:30 - 5:30 p.m. EDT
Join Primary Source for a webinar about teaching with the rich resources within “Homeland Afghanistan,” (http://afghanistan.asiasociety.org/), an online resource developed by the Asia Society. “Homeland Afghanistan” explores the geopolitical and cultural heritage of Afghanistan through a humanities perspective and tells the country’s history through 75 video episodes, featuring leading experts and hundreds of paintings, literary works, photographs, and historical artifacts.
During this webinar, Primary Source will introduce K-12 educators to “Homeland Afghanistan” and highlight its diverse collection of primary sources. The webinar will suggest engaging classroom activities that use primary sources such as photographs, historical coins, paintings, and political cartoons to enhance students’ understanding of Afghanistan’s complex history and culture. Time for Q & A will be included. This webinar is free and open to all educators thanks to the generous support of The Asia Society.
