    The 2020 East Asian Social Studies Symposium will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 20:00–22:00 (Eastern Standard Time), which is Saturday, February 27, 2021, 10:00–1200 (Japan Standard Time). This year the discussants will talk about the theme "Teaching World War II in Asia: History Education and Historical Reconciliation" in their own contexts.     ―History Education and Historical Reconciliation―

     

    Competing national memories of World War II have been seeds of conflict between countries in Asia. In this seminar, faculties from Japan, Taiwan, and Korea will discuss history education and historical reconciliation in Asia under the facilitation of Professor Epstein, a specialist in teaching difficult history.
