    Dear Colleagues.

I hope you and your loved ones are well and safe. Schools and universities in the United States and around the world have moved to online education. Although the transition to a new virtual classroom was swift and probably nor very smooth for many, we have acquired new experiences during these several weeks and will learn even more by the end of this school year. We, in Journal of International Social Studies believe the exchange of the new practices and experiences will benefit everyone in the international social studies education community and help us better prepare for possible challenges in the future. We are planning a special issue of JISS with a working title Social Studies Classroom in the Time of Pandemic: Experience, Practice, and Advice. I invite elementary and secondary social studies teachers, school administrators, university instructors and researchers to submit essays, elements of curricula, lesson plans, or description of lessons that reflect your new experiences of teaching social studies or social studies methods courses during the Covid-19 pandemic. It makes a lot of sense to have this special issue ready in August before the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. To be included in the special issue, the paper must be submitted online no later than July 10, 2020. Maximum length – 2,500 words, excluding abstract (100 words), references, information about the author(s) (50 words maximum about each author), and supplementary materials, if needed. If you include pictures or other copyright materials, please provide permission from a copyright holder. When you submit your paper, please chose the Essay section – the paper will not go through blind peer review but will only be reviewed by the editor.

    Stay safe and be well.
