The first time I hosted a National Geographic Giant Map it was voted more popular than the cupcakes at a local community center open house. Students and parents loved exploring North America in their socks. Since then, teachers have used state and continental maps in schools to share geographic content and skills, demonstrating that Giant Maps serve as an effective tool for teaching about space and place. If you have been planning to acquire a Giant Map for your school, library, or museum, do so prior to March 15, 2022, when National Geographic will pause production. Here is a link to the National Geographic Education website for Giant Maps [https://www.nationalgeographic.org/education/giant-maps/]. Looking for ideas about how to use this resource?
