Great news for any full-time teachers or community college educators out there: I got a Fulbright-Hays grant for a Group Projects Abroad Curriculum Development program for 12 teachers and 3 trip leaders to spend a month (June 2021) in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan studing Persianate cultures (and their relations to the Turkic world). It's cost-subsidized (only $1200 for a month-long program and that includes airfare, hotels, programs, and lots more). This is IN ADDITION TO the program to Jordan that would have run this summer but was postponed until next summer (different leadership, obviously, since both will run in June - and the Jordan participants have already been selected). If you are interested in applying for the Persianate cultures Central Asia trip, watch for announcements on my e-bulletins. (If you don't get them, email me at:
adeli@arizona.edu
and ask to be on the listservs. Be sure to specify if you are an Arizona teacher, out-of-Arizona teacher, or community college educator.)
