Join us for this free online course for K-12 educators and share with your colleagues. China and Japan in Wartime, 1936-1945: War Experiences Through Literature is an entirely asynchronous online course beginning February 5 and running to April 4. Twenty-four (24) hours of PD will be provided to participants who complete the course, either with a Certificate of Completion or (for PA teachers) Act 48 hours. The seven-week special topics course will consider a sampling of short stories and poetry written during and in the aftermath of WWII by Chinese and Japanese writers capturing experiences and memories of war in each country. The course consists of three two-week modules: war on the battlefield, war on the home front, and women's experiences of WWII. All selections are in English translation and appropriate for use in high school literature and history classes.
