Dear Colleagues,
Over the past few months, we've seen social studies simultaneously nudged aside for more literacy and math instruction to make up for "learning loss" as well as become the focus on intense political rhetoric and targeted law making.
In response to this, several colleagues and I drafted the statement linked below to advocate for the social studies in our schools an essential part of every student's education. We hope you find it compelling and useful in your own advocacy for the social studies.
