I am organizing a 2-week summer educators' program "Bosnia-Herzegovina: Crossroads of History and Culture," a travel-seminar in Bosnia with side trips to the world heritage cities of Split and Dubrovnik, Croatia. Unfortunately, it is not grant-subsidized, but it should be awesome! Bosnia may be a country that has "more history than we can stand," but it's a place that is culturally rich, incredibly beautiful, and very, very interesting.
The trip is for K-14 teachers - and participants earn 45 hours of PD credit plus an additional 15 hours if they afterwards create a lesson plan. However, educators can bring along one non-teaching adult as long as he/she fully participates - and registers too. And there are no restrictions on whether you are full or part-time; retired, currently teaching, or a pre-service teacher; support staff, administrator, or classroom teacher. If you are interested in education and in a program that is educational as well as fun, then this is a trip for you.
