Dear Issues Centered Community Members,
I hope that many of you are planning to come to the NCSS Annual Conference in Boston next week. If you do come there, please be sure to take in some of the Human Rights Community's presentations and community events. We have a special sequence of presentations, and meeting followed by a reception, all scheduled for Friday afternoon.
Even if you can't catch our Community Scholar, Felisa Tibbitts' presentation on the World Program for Human Rights Education (2:00 in the Convention Center), come by to meet and greet with us at the Human Rights Education Community Reception (4:20 in the Kent Room of the Sheraton).
There's an outstanding presentation on the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the HRE Community Business Meeting as part of this group of Friday Afternoon human rights activities, too (See attached flyer). Learn about the new Position Statement on Human Rights Education adopted by the NCSS Board of Directors this past September and connect with the resources to make human rights education a reality in your school and your state.
Come for the whole afternoon of Human Rights energy or come for what you can.
See you there!
Rosemary Ann Blanchard, Chair
