    Do you know of an excellent social studies educator or program that deserves recognition?

    NCSS is accepting nominations and applications for the following 2017 awards and grants

     

    Application / Nomination Deadline is: May 15, 2017

     

    1. Outstanding Social Studies Teacher of the Year
    • 3 Awards- elementary, middle level and secondary
    • $2,500 cash prize
    • Up to $500 in 2017 NCSS Annual Conference travel expenses
    • 2017 Teacher of the Year Annual Conference Panel presentation
    • Complimentary 1 year NCSS membership

     

    1. Grant for the Enhancement of Geographic Literacy
    • $2,500 Grant
    • 2018 NCSS Annual Conference project grant outcomes presentation session or webinar/webcast
    • Up to $800 in 2018 Annual Conference travel expenses

     

    1. Award for Global Understanding Given in Honor of James M. Becker
    • $2,000 Cash prize
    • Up to $700 in 2017 NCSS Annual Conference travel expenses
    • 2017 NCSS Annual Conference presentation session or webinar/webcast
    • NCSS Conference Registration

     

    1. FASSE Christa McAuliffe Reach for the Stars Award
    • $2,500 Grant
    • 2018 NCSS Annual Conference project grant outcomes presentation session or webinar/webcast
