Greetings Scholars, Educators, Activists, and Friends!!!

I know many of us are still traveling, but I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your support of the African American Educators for the Social Studies Community events during the 96th Annual Conference of NCSS!

The conversations were thought provoking, enlightening, and really challenge us as a Community to increase our visibility within NCSS through membership, strategic representation in leadership roles, and year-round interstate collaborations among AAESS members. I'm excited about what the next 11 months will look like for our Community as we prepare for NCSS San Francisco! I hope you are, too.

Thank you all, again. This Community could not thrive without you! Please feel free to email or call me with ANY questions, comments or concerns.

    All the Best,

Greetings to the African American Educators eGroup from the Human Rights Educators Community. We look forward to networking with your community and the other social-justice oriented communities within NCSS in the coming year. There's a lot we can do to support each other in the uncertain months ahead and to strengthen NCSS' capacity to support students and teachers as they explore the nature of civic self-reliance and speak out for their communities and families.

Thanks so much for your time and work in leading the AAESS Community, Shakealia.  I hope we all have can a voice in planning the   AAESS Community Scholar presentation for the 2017 San Francisco conference. None of us were given the opportunity to plan for the 2016  Washington D. C. presentation.

    Sincerely, John
