Hello all!  My name is Shelly Gordon and I'm the co-founder of The 1619 Project Advocates of Arizona.  We have a mission to bring The 1619 Project - and the doors that it opens for related subjects - to Arizona social studies classrooms.  We have met with over 30 school district educators and governing boards, as well as key influences and are currently offering a professional development program for our first elementary school district in Phoenix.

We'd like to learn more and be involved in this Community.  Does this group meet regularly?  How might I get involved?

    Thank you,
    Shelly Gordon

Thank you Shelly! I just saw the Pulitzer Center released this amazing opportunity this morning.

Thanks Stefanie!  Yes we received word yesterday from the Pulitzer Center about the 1619 grant program.  We actually briefed the Chief Academic Officer of a school district in Phoenix about The 1619 Project and passed on the information so they could apply.
