First Timers Scholarship Fund Contribution - NCSS 2017 Annual Conference San Francisco, CA
Do you remember attending your first NCSS National Conference? Would you like to make that opportunity come true for a First-Time conference attendee?
NCSS offers a limited number of scholarships for early career educators who are from diverse ethnic/minority backgrounds and/or teach in high-poverty schools. Applications from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. A conference scholarship covers registration and a one-year membership in NCSS. The goal of the First Timers Scholarship fund to develop the next generation of NCSS leaders and members.
Scholarships maybe designated for specific criterion or placed into the general scholarship fund. For example, the Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies designates their scholarship to a member of their board of directors. If a BOD member doesn't apply, the money goes into the general fund.
Please make attending the NCSS 2017 Annual Conference in San Francisco, CA a reality for an educator.
See the attached form or donate online (https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/ncss-scholarships). Any donation amount is welcome. NCSS receives upward of 100 scholarship applications but as of September 1 we only have funding for 15 recipients (one of our major sponsors has pulled funding due to corporate budget cuts).
Thank you for your support of NCSS and the First Timers scholarship fund.
