These are two wonderful FUNDED summer opportunities. I was a Fulbright-Hayes Fellow to Rwanda and it was amazing.
    • K-16 Educators: Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad has some FUNDED summer travel opportunities for you! There's an elementary (K-8) teachers' program to India on "Exploring Cultural and Social Diversities in India," a high school teachers' program to Ecuador on "Examining the Impact of Ecuador's History, Biodiversity, and Cultural Diversity," and a post-secondary educators' program to Poland on "Exploring Contemporary United States-Poland Relations." Chosen participants pay only $600 for the entire program, including airfare. For more information about requirements and how to apply, go to:  https://www2.ed.gov/programs/iegpssap/applicant.html?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term=  and be sure to click on all the different tabs. (It's not a "pretty" website!) For more information on each of the 3 programs themselves, go to: https://www2.ed.gov/programs/iegpssap/fy18seminarfactsheet.pdf. The application deadline is Feb. 2.

    • K-12 Educators: The Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) program is another U.S. government-funded program. (I did an earlier version of this program to Armenia in 2008!) It is FULLY FUNDED. Chosen teachers do an online international education program in the fall, attend a seminar with international teachers in winter, and then go overseas for 2 weeks (to a developing country of your choice, at a time of your choice). It's pretty awesome - and funded. The application isn't due until March, but go start working on your application - or at least thinking about it - NOW:  https://www.irex.org/project/fulbright-teachers-global-classrooms-program-fulbright-tgc  (Be sure to click on the links in the middle and left-hand side of the page.)
