As we begin to breathe again and celebrate, it is a time for giving thanks.
I want to give a shout-out to Jim Clyburn and all those South Carolina Democrats who gave us a nominee who could beat Trump in the General Election.
Let’s give lots of love to our diverse, big, beautiful, blue urban centers, Milwaukee, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Philly, who made it possible to rebuild the Blue Wall… ending the tyranny of Trump’s wall.
And special thanks to Stacey Abrams, who engineered a Democratic victory in Georgia, after having an election stolen from her in 2018.
We can’t forget to appreciate Bernie and all our progressive Democrats who temporarily set aside passionate policy differences for the benefit of the party and a common effort.
We would be remiss if we didn’t appreciate our newest allies, the Republicans who rejected Trump and put country over party. The Lincoln Project commercials were awesome, and hats off to Cindy McCain for making Arizona competitive. I am sure her husband is smiling.
And finally, thank goodness for over 74 million Americans who voted to bring the demagogue down. They were the last check for our democracy, and they are our hope for a better future.
